The Charles Church was built between 1715-1737 in honour of Saint Charles Borromeo. Architectural styles from Romanesque to Baroque result in an imposing facade and an interior of particular brilliance due to the influx of daylight onto the frescoes.

The first architectural creation by Vienna-born painter, poet and radical conservationist Friedensreich Hundertwasser. The house was finished 1986 and has become on of the city's most popular attractions.
