Liechtenstein TourLiechtenstein the principality of Liechtenstein is a tiny central European state situated on the east bank of the River Rhine, bounded by AUSTRIA to the east and SWITZERLAND to the west. In the east of the principality the Alps rise to 2599 m (8527ft) at Grauspitze. The climate is mild alpine. Approximately one third of the country is covered with forests and there are deer, fox, chamois and badger. Once an agricultural country, Liechtenstein has rapidly moved into industry in the last 30 years, with a variety of light industries such as textiles, high quality metal goods, precision, instruments, ceramics and pharmaceuticals. It is a popular location for the headquarters of foreign companies, in order that they can benefit from the favourable tax laws. Tourism also thrives, beautiful scenery and good skiing being the main attractions. Other income is derived from banking and the sale of postage stamps.
