Stephansplatz

Stephansplatz is one of Vienna’s central meeting points and the square surrounding St. Stephen’s Cathedral. Set in the heart of the old town, it connects pedestrian shopping streets, historic lanes, cafes, public transport, and some of the city’s most visited landmarks.

The square is both a practical orientation point and a destination in its own right. From here, visitors can admire the cathedral’s Gothic facade and tiled roof, continue into the surrounding streets of the Innere Stadt, or use the area as a starting point for exploring Vienna’s historic center.
